Thoroughly Blessed

,Four emergency vehicles turned up to St Arnaud Anglican Church on Sunday Morning. No - Not because some disaster had befallen the church, but for a special service of blessing and thanksgiving, with the new Bishop of Bendigo Matt Brain. It was a great opportunity for the community to show appreciation of the services that keep our town safe. The service included the lighting of a police remembrance candle and the Police Ode read by Sargent Bill Alford as the day before, 29th of September is Police Remembrance Day - to remember the 159 police officers who have died in the course of duty. After the service Bishop Matt blessed the emergency vehicles and their crew and then everyone gathered for a sausage sizzle. It was a perfect day to enjoy the spring weather and get to know our emergency service personal, the new Bishop and his wife Rachel. SES members showed us some of the amazing equipment packed into their unit.
